My name is Kevin Marable and I'm a fashion, beauty, and dramatic portrait photographer located in Woodbridge, Virginia which is roughly 45 minutes outside of Washington DC. I'm 38 years old, a husband, and a proud father of 3 beautiful children (18, 11, and 9 years of age). I have been a photographer for the last 6 years and I am completely self-taught. I first started out as an up and coming rapper in the DMV, appearing on several shows on BET (SpringBling 2003 Freestyle Battle Competition - Winner, 106 & Park Freestyle Fridays - 2004, and The Center Freestyle Cypher - 2004), regional and local radio stations, as well as opening up for several notable hip-hop artists and legends Wale, Gucci Mane, Joe Budden, and Nas. Even though my music career was becoming a budding one, the timing was not on my side and several opportunities and record deals fell through. I then decided to find a new passion. Before transitioning from my first love of music, I purchased my first camera which was a Canon T3i in attempts to get into shooting music videos. I quickly realized that video wasn't the route I wanted to take and my path and passion for photography soon came after. Throughout my journey, like most beginner photographers, I began solely as an outdoor-only photographer and it wasn't until 2 years later that I discovered the art of finding the light in my outdoor photography and eventually found my way into learning how to shape light using strobes. I now specialize and enjoy creating dramatic-lit portraits that often have a surreal and cinematic feel to them. I try to stand out by developing a look to my subjects that is dark but with a punch of color, moody, sharp, and can tell a story. I also like to provide dynamic and vivid fashion portraits and look for the right angles to capture the subjects essence in the best way possible. I have also recently launched a youtube channel to help increase my visibility as well as give back the knowledge and experience I have gained as a professional photographer. My goal is to eventually land a management deal with a high-end marketing agency and shoot major publication editorials, covers, and major brand marketing campaigns. Irregardless of the outcome, photography is an art that I will continue to do for a lifetime and continue to enhance my craft.
