Had to get a moment with the rising Atlanta MC, Yung Wave Sage and get a little more insight of the mindset of MIZU. Peep his recent feature/production on IND’s new single, woN’t folD! below:
What’s good yo? Tell the masses who you are, where you’re from.
Yo! What’s good? I’m Yung Wave Sage a.k.a Mizu from Atlanta.
Top five anime?
Evangelion, Dragon Ball series, Ranma 1/2, YuYu Hakusho & JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. I had to leave Tenchi out, that’s one of my favs.
What’s the history of the Wave Sage name?
3 years ago it was Yung Wavy Sage. I commented on SuperDuperKyle’s post and he fucked up my name and called me “wave sage”. So I liked and ran with that one. It roll off the tongue smoother.
How do you think you fit in to the rap industry? The type of sound you express?
The type of sound that I express is just vibes. Whatever I’m feeling I hope the people listening can catch on and relate from the good times to the Bag Hours. Always something for someone.
That’s word yo. Do you feel like the coming year will be good for you?
Yea I got high hopes for this year. I feel 2020 is gonna be very progressive towards my musical journey. No where else to go but up!
How important to you is connecting with other artists?
Very important because I feel connecting with other artist expands the thought process of creating. Nothing better when a band of visionaries get together and make a vision happen.

What would be your favorite project of yours to date?
Personally I choose favoritism over Wave Tape 2. But I feel the most progress was shown in my recent project “Continue ?”. It was more of a release of some leftover baggage from the past. But yeah “Continue?” is my favorite project. I went all out with those beats.
Word. What plans you have for the year? Any new releases, collaborations, etc.
Yeah I got some collabs coming up with my boys up in NC. And a few with some homies I got cool with on this musical journey. I’m currently working on a project that I’m planning for a late February release.
All right yo. We bout to wrap this up family. Any last words to the people?
I wanna give a big thanks to Donald Glover for inspiring me to go with my dream of music. His words were a big impact on my life. And I feel I can’t end this interview without saying that. Gotta give props to the ones that influenced.
