“ALI” - CLOUD ATRIUM
Cloud Atrium, the Philadelphia raised rapper, Engineer, and producer, is someone who’s been on my radar for a little under two years now.
After his work on Khary’s second album “Captain” I decided to do some digging into his discography. At the time his only album available on streaming services was “The Immortal Internal” (though he does have a previous body of work titled “water them plants” available on soundcloud). The first thing that stood out to me on this project is how uncomparable his artistic style and lyricism is, promoting messages of self growth and knowledge. Recently moving to LA, Cloud is wasting no time getting to work on more music. Releasing “Ali” a teaser for his next album “insomnia” (though it isn’t listed to be a track on the album) as well as announcing that Insomnia is set to release 11/22. This track, whether knowingly or not, showcases the connection between the charisma and refinement seen in both cloud atrium and Muhammad Ali’s work. The song, named after the notorious boxer, shows off an atmosphere and world that is entirely unique to Cloud Atrium. This atmosphere is where he thrives. With the rising popularity of Fl Studio it seems anyone can make trap beats these days, but cloud creates something in the genre that is a lot harder to achieve. I have enjoyed all of the content Cloud has released in the past, and I believe the same will be said about Insomnia when it is released.
