[Remmy.] Aye what’s good bro bro? Mann it’s been a year! Glad to finish it out with a blog with you. Ironically you were the last one too...fell into lovely depression cycles after Dreamvillefest promo campaign. That was THE largest and most effort/energy that both the team and I had ever put forth into marketing and promoting an event. — How have you been? So 2018, summed up in one word?
[TESSI S.] That’s awesome to hear brother, yeah that was a major play on our (your) part and that was inspiring to see, i seen you working extremely hard trying to promote the event and glad it was a success. Man im alright 2018 has been nothing short of a rollercoaster but you know the fact that no matter how many hardships and struggles i always find a way out so thats a blessing in itself. But to sum it up in one word. Turbulent.
[Remmy.] I noticed that you did not put out as much content as we’re used to seeing from you last year. Off year?
[TESSI S.] Yeah 100% I’ve been working on a lot of stuff but i haven’t been as consistent as i was in previous years for personal reasons. I took some time to take a break from all the things i can just so i can get right with myself ya know? Talking about shit has never been my biggest strength so i just try and deal with things as best and as healthily (need to work on that part) as i can. Creatively as well it has been a very off year for the previous reason, had a period where i thought i fell out of love with photography but ofc it wasn’t the case i was just battling with my depression and that makes you always want to stop everything and kind of becomes that voice in your head that becomes very hard not to listen to.
[Remmy.] So what’s next for you bro bro? 2019 moves?
[TESSI S.] 2019 moves is to boss up to put it simply man. Every single aspect of my life, the goal is improvement. Always
[Remmy.] Who is a UG member you seem to engage with a lot but have never actually met? Ever plan to link up?
[TESSI S.] Unfortunately i don’t engage with many people in UG to a large extent. I have isolated myself a little bit but thats all going to change of course, there are so many amazing people in the team that i feel I’m not doing a good enough job at reaching out to people, so thats definitely another area to work on. Do i plan to link up absolutely i always love meeting new people and 9 out of 10 times its even better meeting people in real life because social media can lead to very misconstrued views and perceptions of people which i try never to give into but yeah i do plan to link up with a few. One guy i’d love to link up with though is Rio only met the guy once since my last trip to The US and he has become the closest thing to a best friend so he is definitely a priority for me.
[Remmy.] So I know it’s been, what about 2 years since your last US visit — any upcoming adventures in US? —— What’s a quote or affirmation for the fam to live by &_ use as a go to for inspiration for 2019?
[TESSI S.] It has been about 2 years since my last visit, time flies, i really want to head to America again but this time not really to replicate the same experience. America is definitely good for that and i cant wait till i head back to that side but im just gonna have to be patient and go when im able.
I don’t know any quotes but as corny as it is man, kindness is something i always want to preach to/instill in people. Not just to your friends because that act says nothing, to every single stranger that you do or do not meet. I think its extremely important that we all take a second to humble ourselves in whatever way shape or form and learn to sympathize with one another. Whether it be in real life or social media.
