looking back, it’s crazy to see where we are now. a part of me is like “of course you’ve made it this far, it’s in your blood to not give up”. but there have been times when i’ve wanted to just close up shop and be “normal.” then here comes the part of me that can’t settle for a normal life. what is that anyway? normal? if you hang around normal people long enough you’ll never be special.

i guess we should take some steps back to where this whole idea came from. the birth of UG if you have it. it’s mainly my fault it’s taken this long to really voice what UG is. the best way to put it for the normal people is, a collective of creatives. for those with imaginations and vision, this is a Creative Agency.

UG started back in 2011 out of an apartment complex, at the time, called North Campus Crossings. It’s long been renamed and closed now. but a group of college friends and i relentlessly used to play C.O.D. Nothing against it now, i know the gamers will be like “used to”, but we used to play as a team and just destroy opponents. birthing the team name Urban Gorillas.

i was a business management major at ECU at the time so i was itching for my “own thing” business wise to start up. we found a graphic artist out of LA that created a logo for us at a steal of $100 dollars in my mind. it was supposed to take him a week to come up with, he came back in 4 hours. “Dude, you won’t believe this but this design hit me instantly. The street teams here love it! You’re going to do big things!” i think his name was Mike, and if you ever see this or our brand please email us! [side bar, i’ve been looking for the guy who design the original logo for years now. young and dumb didn’t save contact info]...but nonetheless he was the first one to put into my mind, this is going to be big...
