Not to quote Stephen A Smith but, this is exactly what I've been waiting for. A lot of good music has came out in the past month, fewer videos, but nothing that makes me miss my friends like this. Patti Mayonnaise is a song Cyanca dropped around 8 months ago, but the timing for this video could not be any better. For those that don’t know, Cyanca is a Charlotte based rapper and singer. I personally found Cyanca after her appearance on Lutes “Ambitions, Queen city remix”. Since then she’s been on my radar and has never disappointed. With that out of the way, I know all you’re seeing right now in the media is pieces talking about quarantine, but that's what we're all going through right now. Cyanca’s video reminds us of a better time, one when we could hang out with friends, and one that was more carefree. The gritty VHS feel to the video helps with this nostalgia quite a bit as well. It’s not often that you’re given 8 months to let a song live with you and let you build your own vision of what it would look like, and then a video with the artists vision is put out. With that being said, I personally wouldn’t have envisioned it any other way. A job well done by everyone involved.
